A word from our Recruitment Director...
Hi! My name is Miranda Deacon, and I’m honored to serve as Chi Omega’s Recruitment Chair! Just three years ago, I was a PNM myself, and I could never have imagined how much this chapter would impact my life. Originally from Chicago, I came to Florida State looking for a sense of community in a place that felt so foreign to me. I knew formal recruitment could be my chance to find that, but what I didn’t expect was to discover something so much more special. My conversations during recruitment laid the foundation for friendships that have filled a missing piece I didn’t know I had. Since my first day in Chi Omega, I have been supported, loved, encouraged, and inspired to step outside my comfort zone and to become my best self. Being a Chi Omega has been such a privilege, as I am surrounded by the most authentic, passionate, charismatic women who I look up to more and more each day. I am truly overjoyed to give back to this chapter and to the amazing women who have given me so much.
I know that recruitment can be an overwhelming and intimidating process. Here at Chi Omega, we want you to have a comfortable experience and make the most of this whirlwind week! If you are unsure about going through the recruitment process, I want to reassure you that our goal is to make you feel comfortable as we give you a glimpse into our sisterhood. College is a time of transition and change, and I hope that you find that Chi Omega will give you the tools to grow into the person you want to be during these pivotal years. 661 West Jefferson is a place where you are encouraged to be your authentic self, and will always be loved for your strengths and weaknesses. It is an honor to welcome you into our home, where so many women, just like you, have fallen in love with Chi Omega.
As Chi Omegas, we pride ourselves on our symphony. We live by it each day through our words and actions.
“To work earnestly, to speak kindly, to act sincerely, to choose thoughtfully that course which occasion and conscience demand.”
Whether you find a Chi Omega in the house, on campus, in a class, or across the country, every sister embodies the symphony. You will find a smiling face and a diverse group of women who compliment our differences while sharing the same values. You have found yourself here for a reason. I encourage you to take the leap, like most of us did, because this will change your life for the better in ways you never thought it could.
